Feeling pretty worn thin from all the things going on in the last few weeks. Body aching, zero energy. This has been a physically challenging holiday.

I must say that the second white chocolate cheesecake that was served here at Christmas dinner was even better than the one on my birthday. One of the best cheesecake experiences of my life, and there is one slice left in the fridge. It’s not easy resisting it, but I’m trying to hold out from devouring it on the spot, so that it’s not history too quickly.

We played music on Christmas, though I wasn’t in on too much of it. There was plenty of talent without me, so I held back until the music wound down.

Lots of delicious leftovers. The sea scallops as appetizers disappeared before dinner was served, as did the corn chowder. But dinner was excellent (the chipotle sweet potatoes were to die for), and the cheesecake topped it off superbly.

Trying to tie down loose ends and get some chores done before the New Year’s party. That will be a big one, with lots of great music. There are at least twenty good musicians scheduled to show. It should be quite a weekend.

Then everything dies down, and I get to replace the water heater here. Joy…..
