Health
Posted on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 at 4:07 pmMy health the last few days has been anything but splendid. Yesterday, I was struck by an array of symptoms at once as I was packing items for transfer to storage. It put me in bed for over an hour. There was no fever, but a very high spike in blood pressure an hour after taking meds was alarming. There was also bronchial pain and shortness of breath, digestive distress, back/kidney pain, and dizziness and a sense of nausea. All in all, it was quite uncomfortable, more a sense of physical distress than pain. Things were just going haywire.

They settled down in time, though they still linger in residual levels. I want to get my belongings off the property and be out of here, because being here is not comfortable. This place that has been home to me for years is now a place I don’t want to be.
.
I’m not sure what comes next, but it has to better than being here where I’m no longer welcome.
.
PS Figured out that it was a drug interaction induced by sleeping pills (generic Unisom). I guess I will need to find sleep without them.

Posted on Sunday, May 12th, 2013 at 10:02 pmThe Powerbook G4 lost its display. *Sigh* Talk about rotten timing. Well, it still runs fine on a monitor or a flatscreen TV. But that’s not quite the same. And I can still file share when it’s dark. But it’s not the same. I was fond of that 17″ inch screen. Yes, it was eight years old and no longer supported by Apple, being the last model of PPC ever made. Still, I will miss it until I can replace the display screen. $80 used (new is $250).

Been performing changing of the guard duties over to the MacBook, which I’ve been avoiding. Didn’t take too long to make the file copy, since I knew what I wanted with great familiarity. And it all worked. Mail, downloads, keychain, catalogs, et al.

Buh bye, Tiger, for a while. Lion will just have to suffice.

Posted on Sunday, May 12th, 2013 at 3:27 pm2 hours sleep last night, visions of stacked boxes and furniture, trailer hitches, and loading sequences. Not good for much today.
Farewell to Bottomland
Posted on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at 6:11 pmI have been instructed to depart Webberville. The circumstances run deep and rancid, so it’s time for me to pack up and vamoose. It just hasn’t been the same since Helen passed. So the days of music in the barn are history. Not sure what comes next, but there is support.

I’m not looking forward to all the lifting and carrying. Fortunately, the storage facility is less than a mile away. Next week begins the grunt work.

A little something I rendered while waiting for files to copy over to the external drives. TurboSonic….

Posted on Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at 8:37 pmAdobe’s attempt at an app store, Creative Cloud, is a lead balloon here. Nah, the iPhone has done enough transaction damage already. I’m not supporting it, so recently after an upgrade. I’ll live with CS6 for as many years as I continue to hang around graphics.
I still use CS3 on the PPC more often anyway. I like the old interface. A decade of comfort in that UI. Invisible. (But the PPC won’t run forever.)
