A cool spell

Posted on Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 at 7:45 pm

Hasn’t gotten out of the 30’s today.  Grumble grumble.  Myka stayed inside today.  I’m making her a house cat for a while, going into the entertainment business.  Meow.  Lots of mouse flipping and other calorie burners.  Every square inch of the house has been inspected.  Make her tired and sleepy.

.

I can’t seem to get warm enough.  I’ve held off turning up the thermostat.  I may have to give in.

.

A good day for sleeping under covers.

Alpha

Posted on Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 at 3:54 pm

Well, Alpha and Myka are getting a chance to sniff each other out through the screen door.  So tensions are on the wane from a tense meeting the other night.  Myka gets the yard in the morning, dogs in the afternoon.  And the door is open in the afternoon when it warms enough.

.

So Myka is hopefully going to learn to deal with the new dog, and she can be out full time during the day again.  I don’t need all that daytime maintenance.  After dark is more than enough.

A new yard crew member

Alpha (current name, due to change) is a female miniature Schnauzer that is new to the property as of this afternoon.  Everyone welcomed her except Myka.  And from what I can, it’s a case of unknown new dog in the yard knee jerk.  Alpha paid very little attention to Myka, which to me is the primary factor.  Myka will get used to her, and all will calm down.  It will just take a little time for a little familiarity to set in.

Got a new machine bash kit.  Here’s a sample mech joint.  Nice kit.

Valentine’s perspective

Posted on Thursday, February 12th, 2015 at 1:20 pm

A husband brings home to his wife chocolate candy, champagne, roses, jewelry, and untold other gifts for Valentine’s Day, and walks a fine line so as not to blow the mood.  The wife reciprocates with sex, if the husband doesn’t blow it.  How is that seen as equity?  Why doesn’t the wife give all these things to the husband and he reciprocates with sex?

Oy!

How many nuns could a nunchuck chuck if a nunchuck could chuck nuns?

Here comes the sun

A high of 77°F is just a couple of hours away.  I plan to celebrate it in the bath tub, a nice long soak without the faintest hint of chill.

.

I did my bi-annual grabbing at Turbosquid and ShareCG yesterday, 3.2G total, 225 items.  It will probably drop to below 3G after I dump all the .max files and other unusable stuff.  Grabbing is a little tedious, but at least it’s entertaining.  The cleanup is the no-glamour tedium.  That’s why it’s bi-annual.

Superbowl Sunday

Posted on Sunday, February 1st, 2015 at 11:13 pm

The day started off early, before sun rise, Myka waking me up.  I stayed in bed for an hour and change before getting up.  I had nothing I wanted to do, and I got up for a bit and went back down until daylight.  I let Myka out after a smooz.

.

I decided to go to the store early, before church, figuring that I would have the store to myself.  WRONG!  HEB was packed with Superbowl shoppers, people bbq’ing, etc.  The cashier asked me if I wanted chocolate covered strawberry footballs, which I politely declined.  I did spend about $75 though, on the first of the month restock.  Typical.

.

I unpacked and settled down, doing this and that, including resting.  The day passed and I brought Myka in.  I settled down after a snack and napped through the first half of the game and halftime.  No biggie.  But I did catch the end of the game online.  Probably the craziest ending to a Superbowl ever.  And I got to miss all the stupid commercials and the boring parts of the game.  Command-M, F10 combo, works every time.

.

Myka was ticked when I took away her fuzzy mouse that I gave her to quit bugging me.  She needed to settle down and snooze and had quit playing with the mouse.  But she was still ticked when I put it away, and she let me know it, though no blood was shed.

.

Moved on to a movie.  I’m questioning whether or not I’ll finish it.
