Blounts

Posted on Monday, March 30th, 2015 at 5:51 pm

Blue Bonnets are getting established, not peak, but still strong.  Lots of rain over winter will make for a good season.  I will have to be gauche and take a few pictures.

Winding up the month

License tags are going to be harder to do this year, as Texas is moving to a one sticker system for both inspection and tags.  How droll….  Looks like music school next week.

Dealing with a small hernia over the navel, due to fluid retention issues.  Resting belly up seems to help.

At least it’s spring, doors open, breeze through the house.

Rainy day

Posted on Wednesday, March 18th, 2015 at 8:03 am

Woke up to rain, and it’s still raining.  Not a downpour, but steady enough.

.

Was a party next door last night, corned beef and cabbage.  My fingers are sore from playing with Sam.  One thing that Sam said to me that stuck in my mind, as I never really considered it.  He commented that I am not afraid when I play music and sing.  I guess I’m not.

Spring has been nice.  Glad to see the cold skedaddle.

UOO’s

Posted on Friday, March 13th, 2015 at 8:28 pm

Ustream is an interesting alternative to television, live cameras world wide, and the big sell is the ISS, courtesy of NASA.  The usual UFO hunters, and I always insist on UOO (unidentified orbiting objects).  Flight is within atmosphere, where there is flight drag.  Once above friction, it’s orbiting, essentially falling around the Earth (angular acceleration in equilibrium with gravity).  Once out of the gravity well, it’s piloting.

.

I must say, the one that really surprised me was the one who wanted to obtain the feed on a pro-UFO site, funding through advertising.  Yeah, I can really see NASA signing that contract.

Internet magnets.  It’s fascinating stuff.  Much better than fiction.

Spring at last

Posted on Friday, March 13th, 2015 at 7:26 am

Well, I’m breathing a little easier as spring slowly makes it way back as a way of life for a few months.  Wash the cold weather stuff and put it away for seven months.  About time!  (I was getting very tired of cold weather.)

.

Been watching ISS circle the globe and trying to deal with idiots that have no manners.  But it’s worth it.

Adapting to the pollen.  My body just has no energy, and that leads to a lack of ambition.

Cold again

Posted on Thursday, March 5th, 2015 at 7:34 pm

I’m hoping that this is the last cold front of the season.  It was almost to 80°F yesterday.  Forecast to be in  the upper 20’s tonight.  I’ve had my fill, bring on the heat and skimpy clothes.

.

Going to make baked potato soup tonight, and maybe cornbread tomorrow.  Cheesecake (w/ strawberry puree) is half gone.  I went and bought a blender, since I couldn’t find the base of my blender when I moved out of Webberville.  I can have strawberry puree again, timely since it’s strawberry season.

.

Gas prices slowly rising, getting up around $2.20/gallon.  Not that I need to buy any, but I doubt prices will see below $2 again.  Nice while it lasted, a shame I had nowhere to go while it was that cheap.

Spring

Posted on Sunday, March 1st, 2015 at 5:52 pm

It’s been in the 40’s all day and foggy wet, miserable for the opening of In Like a Lion day.  But the cold is coming to an end.  I see maybe one or two more nights where it hits freezing, but by and large, it’s spring.  The redbuds are in full bloom, as are plum trees and other early bloomers.

.

I am ready for spring.  I’m tired of cold weather.  I want to put up my winter clothes and forget them for eight months.  I’ve had enough central heat.  I want the doors open, a mild breeze drifting through the house.

Found that TreeSketch died with iOS 8, a big sorrow.  Looking for a suitable tree generating replacement studio.
