Ping Pong

The winter ping pong game has begun, the alternating warm and cool weather patterns we have for what passes as a season.  60’s to 80’s for the next week.  It looks like Halloween will be a mild one.

Politics has been interesting, watching the growing rejection of a demagogue by the American people.  Breitbart is beginning to realize that maybe they aren’t the will of the US people after all.  I’ll be glad when it’s over.

I have fully settled on purchasing the MacBook Pro in December.  It makes more sense financially.

Journals

Finished construction on Vince’s Journals package, so I’m finally off the clock on that project.  For something that simple, it turned out quite well.

In the 40’s tonight, so I cranked up the oven and cooked a pizza.  One quarter gone.  Freezer is less than 10% available space, even with the pizza removed.  Every time I open it, I want to thaw something.  Ugh!

Put my mukluks on tonight.  And the central heat kicked on for the first time this fall.  I seem to be handling it reasonably well so far.  I do like the cheap ottoman under the desk (small plastic storage box).  It makes a nice little pocket off the floor for my feet.

I’m thinking that December wold be a better time to get the MacBook Pro.  My finances would be a lot more forgiving then.

Thawed and cooked the two racks of spare ribs in the freezer, replacing them with two more racks (individually wrapped this time).  One of the racks had Rib Tickler rub and the other mesquite bbq sauce.  12 packs of ribs will go in the freezer, should last me a while.

Got AT&T paid in cash today, avoiding any chance of autopay.  And it was nice paying the adjusted bill that my call to customer service facilitated.  So that is taken care of.

Got more rib eye steaks today, last day of the sale.  I think I can afford to ignore steaks on sale now.  In the freezer, uncooked: 6 rib eyes, 2 T-bone, 4 sirloins, plus 1 pork loin, 2 pork tenderloins, 2 spare ribs, 2 baby back ribs, 2 lb ground chuck, 2 – 1 pound packs of pan sausage.  Cooked: 1 T-bone, 3/4 porkloin (in 6 – 1 lb sections), 10 recipe chicken quarters, 1 ham (9 sections), 2 – 1.5 pound sections of baby back ribs, 2 links of beef sausage, 1 pound of recipe shrimp.  There’s probably something I’m over looking.  There are other things in the freezer, but not butcher shop stuff.  (Ice cream, strawberry puree, breaded shrimp, breaded chicken, stir fry, onion rings, curly fries, and more.) Freezer is about 88% full now.

The black kitten is running all over the yard now, and she stops by to say hi now, hoping for treats and pets.

A/C is off for a few days, but it will be back on.  I need to fire up the furnace and burn off the dust while the house is open and airing.

Well, the A/C is back on, dew points back up in the 70’s, highs in the low 90’s.

Started working on Vince’s journals for a presentation at the end of the month.  Got all the images reattached properly.  Waiting to hear back from Sarah.

Still no adjustment on the internet bill.  I am ready to go heel to toe with them.  They will not auto-pay it out of my account without my permission.  I will block them at the bank if it comes to that.

more corporate blues

Well, now AT&T is trying to bill me $99 for internet installation, when I was quoted $49.  I am not going to let them get away with it.

Gaining steam.  The drier weather is helping, as is a medication free body.  I finally managed to dump the medication residues from my body after going three weeks without any.  They sure must have liked me to hang around so long.  I need to work on my guitar pads, as they have faded a bit in the last couple of months.

.

The kitchen is cranking these days, the cool weather making it bearable to be cranking out the large recipes.  Spaghetti sauce and sausage/potato starter have been making for fewer times to eat each day, with larger servings.  I’m not complaining.

Been nice having the A/C off and the windows open.  Myka likes it more than me.  Enjoy the mild weather while lasts.
