Pan smoke

Cooked a 3 quart pot today.  Boiling 6 eggs, dozed off, wondering what the smell was when I woke.  I found out when I left the office.  Yikes!  The idea was use up the 10 eggs before the end of next week.  That much I made good progress accomplishing.  Doh!  Fortunately, it was a cheap pot to replace.

It will take a while to air out the house.  It’s going to linger.  Vanilla Fabreze in the meantime.

Sirloins have been postponed until tomorrow.  At least I got them trimmed down before garbage went out.

Singing with teeth

Posted on Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at 5:07 pm

Went to Music School last night and had my first experience in singing with dentures.  Over all, it was successful, but I did learn a few things.  Adhesive on the lower plate is a must to avoid irritation to the gums.  Breathing will be different.  More power on the bass notes is needed.  And lots of little things that aren’t easy to describe.  But over all, I now know that I will be able to perform in public with them.

Slept 15 hours since I got home.  Whew!  Not just napping, it was lights out.  Sore too, upper legs and back fussing big time.

Ten days until exile.  The countdown begins.  Four chunks of sirloin to be tenderized and marinated, broiled and frozen for the stay.  They’ll join already cooked ribs, pork loin, chicken, etc.

Doing what I can to reduce the load in the freezer.  Rib eye…

Gas Tank

Just a quick model and first render in modo 12, a propane tank.

My three day stint is behind me.  Back home.  Been raining a bit this week.  But everything is going well.  No complaints, other than a little sore from the waist down.

I’m going to take it easy for a few days, settled in, relaxed.  Chance of rain for the rest of the week.  Highs in the mid 80s.  A good time to relax.

Headed tomorrow to housesit in Bryan, Friday to Monday morning.  Feed birds and Squirt and new feral cats.  I’ll take care of business while I’m there.  Haven’t made any Music Schools recently.

Paid auto insurance today.  Ouch.  Still staying afloat though.  Only have storage left to pay for the month.

Starting to look at next month’s exile.  I will have fresh 90 day scripts for everything, so no pharmacy juggles.  Looking at what I need to pack for a 30 day w/ Myka jaunt.  I will probably take the audio mixer and do some recording.  I expect to do a little jamming as well.

Not much to worry about in the meantime.  Lots to eat.  Just killed off a loaded pizza.  Had a chicken/broccoli alfredo before that.  Steak, ribs, and smoke turkey/provolone sandwiches are filling out the main courses.  A risotto is for when I get back from Bryan.  Still not gluing the plates in yet, but the partial helps a good deal when eating without them.  That is about to change, though.

Finally resolved the digestive issue in this morning’s wee hours.  It had kept me at home for a couple of road trips, so I’m happy to resolve it.  The bloating was getting uncomfortable and straining my repaired abs.  The new hypertension med will hopefully not repeat the problem.  I was happy with the valsartan.  A shame they recalled it.

Speaking of meds, the pharmacy has been problematic.  Actually, the online refill function and the insurance were the issues, not the pharmacists themselves.  One more refill toward the end of the month, and I’l be set for exile in October, no refills until I get back (knock on wood).

Had a strange dream about being tattooed.  It came from a video I saw of a band’s performance, the singer had strange tats on his neck.  I dreamed that I joined some social/political group (that part was fuzzy), and the requirement was getting tattooed.  In the dream, I woke up with a flower on each bicep, didn’t dream about the actual imprinting, and I wasn’t happy.  The flowers were the same as on one side of the singer’s neck.  I tried to make them go away, but none of the dream resets was successful, and that was quite frustrating.  I was glad to wake up.

Weather starting to change, the heat fading ever so slightly, with a continuation in the near future.  Triple digits to lower 90s is a welcome change.  I’ve had my fill of peak summer, though I’m sure I will miss the heat when it turns cool.  It will help in thawing and cooking the freezer contents.  Ribeyes, sirloins, and more to be cooked.  They’ll join ribs, pork loin, chicken, and more that are already cooked while in exile.  I will be fed and dining out during my stay, so no large masses will travel.  But I will have plenty variety to tide me over when I have time to myself.  I just want to empty the freezer as much as possible for my absence, considering the last exile’s debacle.  I will stop replacing what I eat this month.  (Skipping the baby back ribs sale isn’t easy.  But the $4 Blue Bell won’t be a problem.  I’m near the bottom of the tub.)

September is an expensive month, auto insurance being the big ticket.  But I am still above water.  Now that I have taken care of my digestive tract, I can make a run to Bryan and do bank business.  Maybe even take in a Music School.  All in all, things are looking up, though they weren’t all that bad.
