Fryer

Got a 2 quart deep fat fryer (actually a small electric multi-cooker) to fry boudin balls for solstice.  The one thing that I need to order is a french fry cutter, the sliding tray type that has crossed blades.  I had one of these made back in the 60s, but…  I need to get a new one.  Until then, knife and cutting board.  Need to cook fries to deflavor the oil after cooking.  Starting with a gallon of peanut oil.  I have glass spaghetti sauce jars (large) to hold the used oil.  So I’m set up to fry some boudin balls tomorrow, as it’s too late to venture there tonight.

Jill is having a birthday party tomorrow afternoon at the brewery, and I am invited.  So is the Egee, so I’ll be playing, among others.  Sam will be one of the musicians there, so I won’t be over-taxed.  I’ll probably have a short slot, if there are slots.

.

Warming a little, 60s and 40s after tonight.  Not terribly inclement either.  Easy to get through.  If I can get rid of this lingering headache…  Not bad, but enough for ibuprofen.

Decided to forego the fry cutter.  Everything that is under $70 is garbage.  $70 buys a lot of knife use.  I don’t plan on frying all that much.
