Blue Bell Blues

Well, in order to properly stock the freezer, I had to finish off the tub of Blue Bell and not replace it. I got a coconut cream pie to stifle the misery, as there is plenty of room in the fridge. I also got milk and pan sausage to make gravy for the bag of gold potatoes. Everything on the shopping list was food that requires cooling.

Currently working on pork fried rice (the last of the pork loin on the premises). Thawed out pork tenderloin as a follower. Also working on pastrami and Jarlseberg sandwiches. Brisket is in the near future.

My personal fan, which I use to cool down when I’m overheated, was not blowing much at all, much less enough to cool me down. So I popped open the cage, dusted everything, and cut off the layers of hair that had wrapped around the shaft, slowing rotation considerably. It was funky. I probably extended its life by a year or two. It’s now in default position of blowing toward the ceiling, to mix the room’s air so it doesn’t stratify by temp.

Got more pyrex cups for prep work. Eight 1 cup containers with plastic lids. That way, I can prep ahead of time and store in the fridge. I was looking for four more like I already have, but there were none to be found. I also got four more glass condiment bowls, bringing the total to eight.

Dew point is still running high. It’s too oppressive to be under the hood of the truck. The charger is having issues with the indicator lights. It still seems to be charging well, but I can’t be sure that it’s doing what it says it’s doing. I’ll buy another if it croaks.

Updated to iOS 12.4 on the iPad, and getting the app updates to connect is neigh impossible, and there are a ton of them. It is a true test of patience.
