Always costly

“Why is it always, always costly to move from the present into the future?” – closing line for 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957).

The fajita turkey is gone. I’ll have to settle for fajita chicken. The coconut cream pie is gone too, but it’s easy to replace. I think the brisket is almost gone too, but I need to rummage in the freezer before I make that definitive. I have a pint of milk to make disappear tonight. Hmmm.

I have the next seven hours off and it’s cooled down into the mid-80s. Dew point is currently 75°F. Fans are blowing. I think we have one more week before the weather starts sliding slowly toward autumn.

I look forward to getting the truck on the road. I don’t mind the effort, I just don’t want to put myself into a medical situation. In this weather, my safe exertion is limited, as I have witnessed. I’m playing it safe and waiting for weather that is supportive of my condition.
