Slip and slide

There is sloshy ice on the front porch steps, where the water is dripping off the roof. The temperature dipped into the upper 20s, now back into the low 30s. Most of the rain has moved to the east, so it won’t be that long before it dries up. I don’t see anything that indicates power problems. Most of the freezing is on brick and concrete, not in the trees or on power lines.

Other than that, a Sunday morning, waiting for Ytube to upload.

The rain ended, moving east, and the cold air followed, now in the upper 20s here at the house, lower 20s elsewhere in town. It didn’t leave without dusting the landscape with a layer of sleet. Not melting on the street, dangerous driving. Nasty stuff.

Not going anywhere until it thaws. Frozen rain on the windshield, sleet on the hood. A heater core would have helped.

The temperature has been holding pretty steady at 29°F. Everywhere around here (up on poles) is at 23°F. From the forecast, 4°F to drop by morning. Not much to do but nap and hope for the best.
