About to have cajun black beans and rice w/ham to celebrate Mardi Gras. I slept much of the morning. It just felt too good being horizontal.
I hung a green, purple, and gold balloon bouquet in the front yard. It’s dangling from the end of a cherry laurel branch, the string long enough to keep it from colliding with anything, so no risk of popping unless we get gale force breezes off the Gulf. (Not likely.)
I plan on making the spicy roasted tater bits in a short while. I was too tired last night to tackle it. But the house is open, and the breeze out of the south is exiting the kitchen door. So it should keep the kitchen temp down with the oven running.
It’s also trash and recycling day. So it will be a little on the busy side today.

Trash and recycling are together and ready to go out. Kitchen is swept. Ice bin and Myka’s bag are filled, a fresh bag of ice is in the top loader.
Time to feed Myka. The breaks are on the long side today. Upper 70s make it slow.

Trash and recycling are outside, Myka has been fed. The only thing left is to dice and roast the spuds and wash the subsequent dishes. Glad to get there.
I think I’ll get into some fresh duds. Set up for a batch of laundry tomorrow morning.
